Welcome to Doctor Teacher Mommy!
I hope you will find lots of resources to make you think, reflect, and try something new with your little ones!
I’m Amanda, and I love all things related to tiny people!
After years of brainstorming ideas, researching, blogging, reading, and connecting with other experts, I want to share all of this information with parents and educators everywhere!
There’s so much I want to share with you. Check out more about me, and let's connect soon!
Doctor
When I completed my B.S. and M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education, I knew I was just starting to understand this fundamental stage of development.
After completing my Ph.D. in Infant and Early Childhood Development, specializing in Mental Health and Developmental Differences, it became clear that connections between more significant societal and systemic issues and individual families are complexly interwoven.
My research focused on my biggest passions: how musical interactions affect a mother’s mental health and the developing attachment relationship with her child. Now, I want to share everything I learned with all of you!

Teacher
For years, I’ve worked with infants, toddlers, 3-year-olds, 4-year-olds, and mixed-age groups of young children in many different settings. From a Title 1, Head Start inner-city classroom to a research laboratory school on a university campus, I’ve experienced a wide variety of teaching situations.
While working as a reflective educational coach, I began to truly hone in on my love of working with those who have the most significant impact on children. I look forward to continuing to work with educators and other early childhood professionals who support families in the most important ways!

Mommy
What’s the most humbling way to realize how little you know? Become a parent!
One of the reasons I felt so lucky in the early stages of motherhood was for all of the wise women I had in my life. They shared resources, stories, ideas, and comfort in knowing we were all figuring it out together.
They showed me that through the many different decisions we made as parents, all stemming from our unique composition of lived experiences from various cultural backgrounds, we all had the same goal of giving our little ones the best possible start in life.
